Recruiting software vendors are really selling a big lie.
“Give me a resume, and I can accurately predict this person’s future performance on the job.”
They cannot. Resumes are generally a few thousand words. They are often crafted by professional resume writers. That simply does not allow an accurate or useful prediction of job performance. Instead, it is all about word matching. Software algorithms may be great at this kind of word pattern identification. But that is all.
Labeling their algorithms as AI may be a great marketing ploy but it does not change this fundamental reality.
